Avionaut’s Mission Innovation was amazing! We had a great day, and took a LOT of pictures. I’ll post them over the next few days.

And this, my friends, is why you need to bring your own car seat when you go on holiday. I am in Mallorca at the moment, and just walked past a car and bike hire shop. That apparently also sells clothes…
I asked how much it costs to hire a car seat. €3 a day. Bargain!
They had a few more on a shelf behind the counter, no better than this one, but this one was the only one I managed to take a picture of. I remember this seat, it was around when my children were little. I can’t remember exactly which children, but my seven now range in age from 36 to 15. So exactly how old this seat is is irrelevant, it’s much too old. The chest pads are missing, there are no instructions and who knows what it’s been through in the last 20-30 years. Not to mention that it’s forward facing only, and that no one will show you how to install it. It’s just not worth the risk.
Please swipe for a safer solution.

This is the TinySeats Two, the perfect holiday seat. It rear faces from 61-125cm and can also be used as a booster up to 135cm. It folds in half for easy transport (see next picture).
At £485 it is pricey, but it lasts from six months to seven years. That’s a lot of holidays. 🙂

This is what it looks like when it’s folded.

Available to order on my website!

Some babies will happily sit in their infant carrier until they’re one and a half, or even two years old. Some, on the other hand, HATE it. So much so that their parents start to dread every journey and would rather take the train than have their baby scream the entire time.

When those parents come to me they are usually pretty desperate. They’ve tried everything and are convinced that their baby hates the car, and have more or less resigned themselves to having to get public transport everywhere for the next few years.

The solution is very simple. I’m not even going to insert ‘usually’ or ‘often’ here, because in my experience this simple solution always fixes the problem. Some older babies just don’t like their infant carrier. They can’t talk, so we can only guess, but I’d say it’s because they’re bored. Infant carriers are quite reclined and low down in the car. So the baby can’t see out of the window, and the recline angle means they’re mostly looking up at the car ceiling.

As soon as they are moved into a bigger car seat, they are higher up and more upright. They can now look out of the window and will be much happier. Bigger seats are more spacious too, so the baby can move his or her arms and legs more freely.

The message in this picture came from this baby’s mum about a week after I sold them an Axkid Spinkid 2. I have had many messages like this over the years. So if your baby screams in the infant carrier, you don’t need to get the train, you just need a bigger car seat.

I don’t just sell car seats, I can help you fit your existing ones too.

This family bought their Axkid Minikid 2 and Britax Max-Way Plus from me a few years ago. They are going on holiday this week and asked me to move the seats into nanny and grandad’s car.

You may have bought a new car, you may have taken the seat out to give another adult a lift, or you may need to travel with your children in someone else’s car.

Whatever the reason you took your car seats out, and whether you bought them from me or not, I can help you put them back in.

Home visits in and around South London, please get in touch! 🙂
