I’m thinking of giving sewing classes. If anyone is local in the UB3/4 postcode and is interested in the following curriculum please send me a DM. It will cover the following:
Week 1: Mastering the sewing Machine. We'll focus on threading, bobbin winding, and understanding basic stitches, practice sewing straight lines, and troubleshoot common issues.
Week 2: Taking Measurements and Fitting. Learn how to take accurate measurements and how to pin a garment to fit before cutting.
Week 3: Taking in Side Seams. Time to sew! Learn how to taper lines neatly, especially around the armhole and bodice for a clean finish.
Week 4: Understanding Fabric Types. Explore different fabrics and how they behave during alterations, focusing on ones that might be used for modest dresses.
Week 5: Simple Hemming. Master a basic machine hem or try a hand blind hem for a hidden look.
Week 6: Advanced Finishes or Project Practice. Learn techniques like darts for shaping or practice on a specific garment, ensuring they feel confident.
