WALL & JONES opened in December 2011: an old tailor’s shop that has been transformed into a cabinet of curiosities, housing the two designers’ latest collections in an aesthetic of Victorian tatter. Although they both work in different mediums, they share a similar aesthetic and philosophies of design. Halo Jones uses vintage, eclectic and antique pieces to create one of a kind and limited edition
jewellery adornments. Ali Wall uses vintage fabrics and tapestries to make one of a kind dresses and other garments with an 18th Century overtone. Both designers share a passion for rediscovering forgotten objects and vintage artifacts - their pieces represent the triumph of memory in an ephemeral time. With their use of quality materials and a painstaking attention to detail they create designs to cherish for years to come. Sara-Jane Chase studied Industrial Design and Gold & Silversmithing. As a self-proclaimed magpie, she retrieves jewellery, objects and curiosities from London antique markets and auctions, Parisian flea markets and Italian Piazza vintage boot fairs. Using her inimitable style, she strips, restores and reassembles her material into unique wearable jewellery pieces that have a detailed individual
provenance. Halo Jones jewellery ranges are also stocked at Paul Smith stores in London, Amsterdam, Paris & Melbourne. Ali Wall has a background in Theatre and Television - designing, directing and performing. Inspired by antique fairs and car boot sales, the visual textures of vintage and recyclable materials stimulated a latent interest in fashion. Her design process is dictated by individual combinations of vintage fabrics that are blended and contrasted, suggesting various shapes and telling a humorous story. Her style has developed over years within the Brick Lane vintage and fashion scene: menswear is subverted into feminine forms and catwalk
shapes emerge from a quirky patchwork.
