Artist Spotlight: Laurence Guy ✨

Laurence Guy is no stranger to throwing a party.

From taking over village halls and pubs in his hometown of Guildford to free daytime raves at his Stoke Newington local, The White Hart, creating community has always been at the heart of what he does.

The London-based DJ and producer’s motto is ‘music to make you feel feelings’: comfort, nostalgia, bittersweetness, and increasingly, hands-in-the-air euphoria.

Deeply embedded in UK rave culture, Laurence has amassed over 60 million streams, released two acclaimed albums and played everywhere from Printworks and Glastonbury to Southbank Centre and Fabric. Recent tracks ‘Hey Baby’ and ‘Most Perfect People (Are Mostly Not Perfect)’ mark a new phase: fun, impulsive dancefloor music that feels fresh and immediate.

“All the best moments of my life have been at some kind of party or dancefloor – hearing a certain song,” he says. Now, making those memories for other people is his goal.

This Bank Holiday Sunday, Laurence Guy headlines the Mama’s Boy boat party.

This one will be special.

Artist Spotlight: J. Peacock

Before the big headliner reveal this Sunday, we’re very happy to introduce another member of the Mama’s Boy Boat Party crew for Bank Holiday Sunday, August 30th 🛥️❤️

Meet J. Peacock (Joel) 👋

Blackpool born, raised on Northern Soul and Motown, and shaped by Manchester’s club scene, Joel has been around UK dance music for well over a decade. From playing the legendary Sankeys and becoming a founding member of Purp ’n’ Soul, to years spent making music in Hackney Wick, his journey has always had soul at the centre.

More recently, J. Peacock has brought those Northern Soul roots together with warm, uplifting house, releasing on the likes of Shall Not Fade, Dirt Crew and Pomme Frite, and playing everywhere from Corsica Studios and Sacré Paris to Seoul Community Radio.

Some of you might also remember that rather special J. Peacock b2b Laurence Guy at Lost Village last year. If you know, you know, swipe to that video! ❤️‍🔥

And there’s plenty more coming, with Joel’s next single landing on egoplanet_records at the end of August 👀

We can’t wait to have him joining us on the boat. Expect big smiles and very good energy

Honestly can’t believe I’m writing this...

This Saturday, a true New York legend joins Mama’s Boy in The Loft at The Cause -

For anyone who knows their house music history, Jovonn isn’t just another DJ on a flyer. He’s one of the architects of the soulful, underground NYC sound that shaped generations of dancers, DJs and producers.

Raised in Brooklyn, by 14 he was already DJing the iconic block parties of the 80s, coming up through Sapphires, Club Saturn and Club Serene, before finding his spiritual home at The Loft, Zanzibar and Snobbusters. When “Turn and Runaway” exploded onto the scene in 1991 and landed in the Billboard Top 10, he became a global force overnight.

500+ productions spanning house, hip-hop, R&B and neo-soul. Releases on Nu Groove, Defected, Apollonia and more.

A signature sound built on gritty drums, jazzy chords and unmistakable soul - and decades later, he’s still creating, still evolving, still carrying the spirit of New York house wherever he plays.

A genuine pioneer.
A producer’s producer.
A DJ’s DJ.

This Saturday, Mama’s Boy welcomes Jovonn to The Loft at The Cause.

Best rate tickets for all you legends in our bio.

See you on the dancefloor ❤️

Love, C x
