The contaminations of different environments like Slovenia and Austria and the versatility of a region geographically complete, have been influencing her projects since the beginning. She graduated in Fashion Design at IUAV University of Venice experiencing in the meantime a semester as Erasmus student in Spain and another semester as Designer assistant in Milan, where she faced the fashion indust
ry for the first time. In 2013 she decided to leave everything behind and to move to London where she actually lives. After an intensive work experience in retail, she’s now attending the MA in Fashion at Goldsmiths University of London and working as Fashion Designer freelance for her brand-new label Hilarie Minu, launched in 2013. Hilarie Minu is a concept label dedicated to an unconventional and free-spirited woman, with a personal style that doesn’t take inspirations from the seasonal trends. The label has a first collection ready and a second one in progress. The big attention to details and the emphasize of quality and craftsmanship allows Ilaria to work on one collection per year. One of the coats designed for the second collection has since been used in the first music video of London-based band Mass Datura.
“Contemporary Nómadas. Slow clothing” is a two-years project started with the BA’s final collection “Contemporary Nómadas” that at the beginning explored the world of gipsies up-making vintage menswear and left-over pieces of fabrics transforming them into garments. In this frame of time the collection has been evolved hugging the concept of slow fashion, where each piece is thought and deeply worked giving an alternative to fast production. This is the first collection of Hilarie Minu and the peculiarity is that it is not seasonal, it is renovated by each brand-new garments while the older ones are mixed and matched to show their versatility in style.
