A celebration of our incredible campaign that sold out our first collection Desi Archive in 2 minutes and became a global hit! Alhamdullilah

We wanted to create more than a launch event. We wanted to create a space in London where South Asian girls could simply feel at home.

A little aangan of our own — filled with chai and amazing food by .ldn , carrom by , block printing, laughter, girlhood and all the little things that make our culture feel like home.

Seeing a courtyard full of incredible women connecting, celebrating and taking up space together was everything we imagined Modest Edit could become beyond the scarves.
A brand, yes. But also a community. A place for our stories, our heritage and our girlhood.

London needed an Aangan. So we made one. and we might be doing another exciting event soon, if you want to be a part of it and be the first to get details, comment COMMUNITY. 🫶🏼

Ajrak isn’t just a pattern. It’s a centuries-old textile tradition deeply rooted in South Asia, carrying the history, craftsmanship, and identity of the communities who have preserved it with dedication for generations.
And that’s why naming it matters.
When we see Ajrak reduced to a generic “ethnic print” or simply called a “tribal” or “boho” pattern, its origins and cultural significance are slowly erased. The more we separate the design from its name, history, and people, the easier it becomes to forget the culture it comes from.
So when you see Ajrak, call it Ajrak. Give the craft its name, acknowledge where it comes from, and remember the people who made it what it is!!

We wanted our first Modest Edit event to feel like more than a launch. We wanted it to feel like stepping into a little piece of South Asia , the food by .ldn , the games by , the craft by .mahomed , the incredible setup and decor by the conversations, the hospitality and that feeling of everyone just belonging.

From competitive rounds of carrom to block printing our own totes, chai, incredible South Asian food and a courtyard full of girlhood , somehow the vision in our heads became real.

Seeing so many incredible women come together to celebrate our culture and the little brand we’re building around it was genuinely so special. This was never meant to be a one-off. We want Modest Edit to become a community, more gatherings, more experiences, more culture and many more reasons to bring you all together.
