Is your cup full?

It's all too easy to slip in to bad habits and I'm guilty of this too!

Are you eating well?
Are you getting enough sleep?
Are you drinking enough water?
Are you stressed/overwhelmed?

Just a few little questions to ask yourself, one thing I've found that's helped since going back to work is plan, plan and more planning... getting organised, especially with the shopping!

I've been told I'm pre-diabetic and I'd like to shift a stone! So researching the best foods for this and my hypothyroidism and planning around those ingredients that I know will feed my body with the goodness and nutrients it's needs, plus my 2 growing kids, which has then helped with the "what shall we have for tea?" dilemma after a day at work.

Sleep .. I'm in bed at 9.30 most nights now with my book or resting watching Sewing tutorials, asleep by 10.30 -10.45!

I'm tackling it all bit by bit, trying to form those habits to make sure I'm healthy and rested enough to look after my family and perform at work, without heading for burnout!

I need to sort out where I can slot in housework into my day, getting kids on board to help too!

What are non-negotiable steps or tips for you to make sure your cup is full?

🪡 Monday Makes 🪡

In all honesty I'm not that impressed with this top ... which is why I'm procrastinating in getting it finished! All I've got left to do is the arm holes and it's finished. But I'm not keen ... I'll get it finished and use it for when I'm exercising!

The patchworks are for my next Etsy project ... what that project is going to be, I'm not quite sure yet! But there is something so therapeutic in joining all my little scraps together!

Suggestions/ideas very welcome!
(Not cushions or quilts .. as its for Etsy I'm running out of room to stock large items!)

Are you a tea or coffee person in the morning? Those who know me well will know im definitely a tea girl, I'm not functioning much until I've had that cuppa!

And then just as it feels like 2 minutes since we came back from holidays ... October arrived!

Do you like Autumn? What's your favourite thing about it? The best part for me is definitely Heidis birthday, but think it looks so pretty with all the autumn colours and crunchy leaves, I love coming home in the late afternoon (before dark), to get cosy, lamps, throws, warm .. I personally do not like being cold. I love autumn and winter fashion .. but I don't like the sensation of feeling chilly!

So in from work and a nice cup of tea, or a hot chocolate ..

Sundays are a perfect day for hot chocolate (which has just reminded me that my online shop is coming today and I didn't order any ...!🤦‍♀️)
But usually autumn/winter Sundays involve a hot chocolate as part of my self care. I have a busy today but I'm definitely going to fit in some sewing and other bits of self care, a nice pamper shower and some reading.

We all need self care .. even those who say they don't! Self care ..

💕 Increases self confidence ... which helps our self worth as we feel better about ourselves. If we feel empty and depleted then this will reflect how we show up.
💕 Decreases stress and anxiety by improving the way we react to stressful situations. If we have a toolbox ready, such as a walk in fresh air to calm down and centre or 5 minutes deep breathing, our neurological system will feel more rested.
💕 Improves sleep quality, if our neurological system is more rested then our bodies will sleep and digest better.
💕 Makes better relationships with others and our loved ones as we are looking after ourselves... which in turn will help us look after those around us, we feel better about ourselves, less stressed, more focused and productive.

💗 We all need that time to switch off, to do what WE want to do ... we can't be expected to run on full cylinders, hold down a job, be a parent, clean the house, do the extra jobs in the house that always crop up, work from home .. if we are not looking after ourselves and giving ourselves that time off we deserve.

💗 Self Care can benefit us all in many ways, including:

💗 My self care tends to be either crafting for me, not my business, or I might do a little pamper treatment like my nail gel or a little facial. Sometimes I might just sit and knit while watching Netflix or be away somewhere in the campervan taking in some lovely views.

💙 Alfie has been away this weekend on his Duke of Edinburgh expedition so I'm expecting a wet, muddy, sweaty tired teenager home later on, missed him though, weird him not being about! Heidi and I had a pamper night on Friday and I'm going to have a chilled day today with some "me" sewing.

Have you ever tried Bacarrat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian?

I have but certainly cannot justify £235 for a bottle of perfume! The 4 of us could sail to Calais and back for that! 🤷‍♀️

So ... would you buy a 50ml bottle for £40???

I tried a sample of this and yes, it's just gorgeous, by far my new favourite perfume .. much more affordable too than £235 ...

If you haven't tried it before, just think of a combination of the oils on the picture. It really does smell beautiful and apparently even a few celebrities have saved their pennies by having the £40 bottle!

So ... either £235 on the high street for 70ml
Or ... £40 for 50ml with me ♥️

🩷 This is very much me lately!

🩷 I'm not getting as much sewing time lately, kit going to lie .. I miss it ... I think about it all the time ... I dream of being sat at my machine whipping up something lovely ... Sat at my machine .. on a table.. outside in the sun ... somewhere hot where I can make lots of summer dresses to wear all the time.

🩷 Getting a little carried away aren't I ... but ... at least you know when you buy from me that your items are made with lots of love going into them!! 🥰
