Congratulations Natasha! 😍 you look so beautiful!

Natasha found her dream dress, but wasn't quite happy with how the pleats of the skirt were arranged at the waist.

I detached the front of the skirt completely away from the bodice and repositioned them to create a more flattering shape. Then the dress was hemmed.

I also added flowers to her veil to match her dress!

Latest sewing job!

A lovely lady in my building needed the tape replacing on her curtains as the old stitching was starting to give way, so I thought I'd make a little video showing the process.

Behind The Seams isn't just for wedding dresses! If it needs sewing, I can do it 😅

What a joyous whirlwind the past 24 hours have been! I had the absolute honour of being a bridesmaid for my beautiful best friend's wedding ♥️

I decided to make my dress for this very special occasion- this is such a rarity for me because its so hard to find the time! 😅

I really wanted to make a video to show the sewing process but that very quickly went out the window! I've been blessed with such a steady influx of bridal alterarions these past few weeks that finishing my own dress came down to the wire! But all the late nights were absolutely worth it 🧡

Congratulations Chloe & Adam!! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and adventure! And thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day!

This is one of my all time favourite bespoke alterations! Scarlett fell in love with a beautiful mermaid gown with a tulle skirt and train. But she wanted an extra long satin train to compliment her incredible venue.

I sourced matching fabric and created a train extension just shy of 3 metres. Then 150 satin buttons were hand stitched down the centre back of the train to seamlessly blend with the buttons already on the dress. I also made off the shoulder cuff sleeves.

I'm back with my obligatory "I haven't posted in so long" post!

Is it way too late to say happy 2026? 😅

My TV work has been keeping me super busy for the last 12 months so I thought I'd share what shows I've worked on! I love working as a costume principal standby, but i'm hoping to focus more on bridal alterations in the next few months!

Third and final post on this dress ♥️

As seen in the first pic, the dress was originally low back, but Jessica wanted some more coverage.

So with the lace from the train, I made 2 symmetrical panels and hand stitched them into the dress, and extended the satin buttons and elastic loops up the centre back.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jessica to bring her vision to life!

More photos from this absolutely stunning bride, Jessica ♥️ thank you for letting me share these!

Jessica wanted to add sleeves to this strapless gown, but as with most strappy dresses, the arm holes were too deep to hold a fitted sleeve.

So I used the lace that was taken off the train to build up the arm hole by about 2 inches. (Best seen in the last photo).

The thin straps were replaced with thicker satin, which was then covered with more lace.

The sleeves were taken from a bolero which closely matched the dress, and these were taken in to fit Jessica.

New buttons on the cuffs and a little gather on the sleeve head and voilà! The sleeves were in! 😅

This was a rather long process and I'm so grateful that Jessica was very patient 🙈

But all the work was so worth it in the end ♥️

Very, very late in posting this! 🙈

I've been so fortunate this year with work- 2025 has been my busiest year to date! Onto my third tv show as principal standby and altered 3 gorgeous wedding dresses for 3 beautiful brides! But it means I've gotten even worse at remembering to:
A). Take pictures
B). Actually post them 😂

So starting off with this one. Jessica wanted the lace train reduced, so i spent a good few hours strategically cutting away the lace, repositioning it and hand stitching it all back in place! The excess lace was later incorporated into extra panels on the back and building up the arm hole for sleeves... more pictures to follow! 👀

This is one of my favourite alterations from last summer 😍 yes, i realise that was well over 6 months ago but I am that bad at posting on social media 🙈

Charlotte combined this elegant tea length satin dress with a gorgeous lace top.

The original illusion neckline on the dress was removed, the dress was taken in and after slimming the bell sleeves to Charlotte's taste, the top was attached to the dress to create this stunning bespoke dress ❤️

This was a special dress to work on 🥰

As well as some standard bridal alterarions- hem, bust darts- Kristine wanted to incorporate something of her beautiful Nan to remember her on her special day.

She gave me a square of one of her shirts so I made a delicate heart which sat on the inside of the strap ❤️
