Rain... Hhh. Great!! I've been messing around printing and made a collage. It's so exciting. But as ever, I don't know what I'm doing til it's sort of done 🤔😊

Hello! I've been messing around with printing techniques, and combined with felting, I made this vase cover. I'm really pleased with the outcome.

A long overdue update. Just a couple of pieces I've managed to get done over the last couple of weeks that I'm really pleased with. The first one is a take on felted bird's nests. This one is purely decorative rather than functional, but I think it will end up outside in the garden. It'll be interesting to see how it weather's. The second piece, I did to challenge myself. I love poppies. They're somehow brave as well as being delightful to look at. And the pods that are left behind are stunning pieces of sculpture. I find them fascinating. I set out to try to construct a pod in wet felt. It was a great exercise in study of your subject. The more I looked, the more improbable the perfect structure appeared to be. But that's nature for you. Magical.

After a long hiatus, I've been having a go at dyeing silks with madder root. I wanted to achieve a deep red. It's turned out a lovely burnt orange which I love. In the first pics you can see the colour deepening in the dye Bath. I left the fabric to cool in the pot over night, and then hung them out to dry. I can't wait to use this colour with some nunofelt.

Thank you so much for all the hard work organising, and making this happen.
There are some gorgeous pieces if you want to go onto the website for a peek.

'A Zoom with a Brew' was my contribution.

I've just finished this commissioned shawl. I've loved every minute. The spec was to create something that gives a nod to the beautiful lily of the valley. In particular to try to capture all of the beautiful, delicate shades of green in the leaves.

I started by dyeing silk chiffon and margilan silk different shades of green, blue and yellow. The second photo shows them drying out. I also used different silks from used saris, and dyed silk hankies, and superfine merino wool.

I so enjoyed making this. A labour of love for a lovely lady I don't really know, who is working so hard during this pandemic. A gift for her mother. How lovely.

Long time no post!! A quickie just to touch base. I've been busy with life for a while.. Thinking more about felting than doing. But here are a couple of pics of a couple of 'hats' I made a while ago that are now sitting on my shelf in the kitchen being,... Well being just themselves. Some say 'hat' other might say 'wee Beasties!'.
