🐑🧶 W,W&W Festival - Vendor Spotlight 🧶🐑

Next Vendor we have is Wendy Erskine, who lives in Galloway, where she has a flock of 52 mixed-breed sheep. Wendy has her own studio loves teaching local people, introducing them to spinning, weaving, and felting. Wendy also founded the Eden Wool Gathering, an annual festival in Whithorn that brings together many artists and wool enthusiasts.

We are looking forward to having Wendy at the festival with us!

Before the gathering I decided to treat myself to an Ashford e-Spinner.

I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. I’ve always preferred a traditional wheel, but this has completely won me over. It’s smooth, steady, and just makes spinning feel effortless.

No regrets at all.

Violet Storm – Woven Varafeldar Collar

Handwoven in Galloway from natural wool, this varafeldar collar combines a strong woven ground with long, flowing locks worked directly into the cloth. The curls fall freely, retaining their natural spiral and movement.

Dyed in layered violets — from deep royal purple to soft lilac — the fleece catches the light and creates a dramatic, sculptural silhouette.

Made from wool grown and prepared locally, each piece is entirely unique ,both cloth and fleece.
