Full circle moment...
Mason (11) climbed into my bed as I was sat working on my laptop and asked what I was doing. He already knows I'm wanting to restart the business. So I showed him how I was redesigning the packs to make improvements from their previous design to relaunch.
After sitting and watching me for a while he asked if he could have a go. He was choosing colours, designs and layouts, it was lovely to have someone to bounce ideas with and hear his opinions.
This boy has been here from the beginning.
I first created playPROMPTS as an exhausted mum at home with her first. The days were lovely, but long and lonely! And surviving on no sleep was new to me and made every little task so much harder.
As an early years expert I knew play would help us fill our day and give me five minutes with a cuppa! So I wrote a list of things we could grab and quickly set up and wrote at the top of the page 'play prompts'. And then I wondered if a list of easy play ideas would help any other tired parents?? Turns out, they did!
The range of activity cards grew and so did our community! I wrote a book in lockdown and launched an app and even got to work with some incredible brands and businesses, all around my expanding family.
But then as you know things changed. My whole life changed. And I thought that was the end of the story.
Turns out it's not, turns out it was just another chapter of my business and actually a new chapter is about to begin.
I'm excited and scared of how I'll rebuild playPROMPTS this time but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't try just one more time!
Play saved me when I lost myself in motherhood 11 years ago and now I'm wondering if it will save me all over again? Here's hoping, because I've got three boys watching me and I'll do everything in my power to make them proud of me!
Thank you to every single one of you who have been here since the beginning and whose children have grown up with mine and you're STILL cheering me on! I really appreciate you!
