i fell in love with my wonderful friend sanchita’s writing long before i ever met her. there was something irresistible in it: the quick wit, the atmosphere she could conjure in a single sentence, and a straight-shooting honesty that never overworked a sentence for effect.

sanchita writes about places the way the very best travellers experience them — with curiosity, humour, and a keen eye for the details others might easily miss. she notices the contradictions, the characteristics, the imperfections that make a city breathe.

so when she agreed to take her RUSKIN belt bag roaming with her for 24 hours in san francisco, i knew the story that followed would be more than a guide to a city. it would be an invitation to see it through her eyes.
