I tried my hand at darning the other day..... It's not flawless but I am surprised it didn't turn out worse!

Visible mending is an art, in Japan it's called Sashiko and do it with vases too (Kintsugi) and inlay gold where cracks have been to make it even more beautiful ... I decided to stick with a close colour for my first try just to be safe!🤭

I love the idea of broken things not being useless, they just need a little love, and a scar says it's been loved so much it's mended so I'm happy to wear this jumper like this ❤️🩵

A preliminary fitting done today for these lovely people on some custom van seats. The customer provided the material & sewing thread and the measurement, delivered them to me and I cracked on!

Glad to say these two pictured fitted well, I just need to get the other two finished and I've completed my first ever "Entire" van set! 🥳🥳🥳

A £50 donation has been made to this amazing charity that runs Amasiko half way house, a place where girls between 15-21 learn to sew and braid hair so that they may gain safe employment in adulthood and keep their families clothed, or maybe even teach their siblings.

These girls are often from homes where there are social issues or illness and have become the head of the house.

Thank you to Deb, Claire M, and Amy R for helping to make this donation possible.

This is the beginnings of my first big un-paid projects.....

I'm making 250 washable sanitary pads to send to women/girls around the UK who don't have access to hygiene products that need it.

Materials have been donated by lovely Padstow locals and I hope to soon be able to show you the prototype before I sew the other 249 so that I can make any adjustments 😘
