Sewn with Style Welcome to 'Sewn with Style' - A one-woman seamstress service, providing help with all your sewing alterations via appointment and postal service.

'Sewn with Style' was founded by Sonya Fisher in November 2020, drawing on many years of sewing experience for friends and family. I have made 60's inspired dresses, prom, bridesmaid, ballroom and Latin dancewear, home furnishings, toys and fashion accessories. In my younger years I worked for 'Hang Ten' making surfing clothing. Sewing has always been a passion of mine and after having been made r

edundant during the Covid Pandemic I decided to turn my hobby into a full-time lifestyle and create 'Sewn with Style'. My ethos is 'to provide you with a stylish, made to measure and bespoke clothing service to suit your style'.

I was recently brought this lovely Bee Bee Gowns prom dress from a customer and my remit was to integrate the top chiffon layer into the sweetheart neckline underneath to give a more youthful look. I think you’ll agree it really does have a younger vibe for the lovely young lady who will be wearing it 🙌💙 Not long now until all those proms now!! 🥳 🪩

💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩💃🪩 Another fabulous crinoline edged prom dress from brought to me to alter from a lovely customer 🥰 💃 My remit on this dress was to shorten all the hems on the layers. With outer crinoline edging like this it has to be taken off and re-sewn back on, then turned over and sewn again to create the correct length. This dress has 2 layers of sparkly handkerchief style net with crinoline edging (metres and metres of) with 2 satin inner layers and a net layer. All layers needed to be altered, the shoulder straps needed shortening and hook & eye being moved and re-sewn. Another dress finished and all ready for its prom 🥰 💃 If you need any prom alterations best be quick time is ticking for the event of the year! 🥰 💃🪩

One happy bridesmaid from last year at her sister’s wedding. 💖This lovely customer brought me her bridesmaid dress very upset as it had been altered by someone very badly and she was messed about along the journey and was now running out of time before her sister’s wedding! 🫣I assured her all would be well once I’d finished with it! 🥰🙌 So I undid the other person’s work then started doing it properly. One thing you are assured of with me is - I do not cut corners - I do a job properly so if you want to sell your dress after wearing you’ll be able to as the work inside is neat and tidy like pre-bought - I don’t do quick bodge jobs and if ever asked to I decline because that’s not my brand. Recently altered curtains for a customer. The remit was to shorten them to 137cm - this has meant there’s enough fabric left from the cut offs to make cushion covers at a later night if my customer chooses to - which I’ve done a few times recently for customer. Love matching curtains and cushions. If you’ve sourced some fabulous new curtains that are perfect for your room but too long - PM me I’d be pleased to help you. 😊
