So sad to see The Dressing Room, the bridal business I set up in 2012 close it’s doors.
I loved every minute of running The Dressing Room and met so many beautiful brides and their families. It was a privilege to be part of their wedding plans and I’m still in touch with many of them now.
I sold The Dressing Room in 2021 after the difficult times of Covid. I helped the new owner for her first year and made sure I looked after all the brides that I had ordered gowns for by retaining StitcheryDooDah ( across the road from The Dressing Room ) and carrying out alterations for them.
I really hope Garstang gets another bridal shop - it brought many new people to Garstang who hadn’t visited before. I hope it doesn’t become another Charity shop or Barbers!
I’m still doing bridal and prom alterations from my home in Garstang and am happy to do other alterations too.
Im just finishing this years Prom season and will post pictures soon. In the meantime here’s some of my girls at their 6th Form Ball (they are in Lower 6th)
I altered the red and copper gown and made the Teal gown…. Enjoy!

I’ve been doing a bit of interior design for Kirkham Grammar School in their new pastoral hub - turning a cold space into somewhere warm, calm and re-energising - a space for pupils to come and destress 😊

I’ve been very busy lately getting lots of girls ready for Prom season and my own three girls had their Prom on Weds - I was up all night making finishing touches to their gowns and I can honestly say it was extremely stressful at times but they all took my breath away when they finally stepped out looking absolutely stunning - I was one very proud Mama!
Here’s some pics ( I just did the fitting alterations to Izzy (blue) and Charlottes (emerald) gown but LouLous (Ivory) gown is her design which I made from start to finish including an internal corset!!!!

Still a few more gowns to go for me but after 1st July Im having a break and putting down my pins and scissors for a wee while!
