I have video upon video of all of the fun things we got up to this festive season that I keep meaning to post on here, but at the crux of it I had the luxury of spending it with the people I love. Family and friends are what make life worthwhile and whilst money may be high on the 2026 agenda for many of us, here’s a little reminder that wealth is so much more than just pennies in the bank. Take a moment to be grateful for those around you before the reality of those direct debits hit on Monday 😂

They said ‘Day of the Dead’ 💀 I heard flower crown 🌸 I absolutely loved making this piece alongside two lovely friends who joined me in the studio to make theirs. I didn’t plan for such a tall piece but this one took on a life of its own and I am so glad it did. At 5 ft 1 and with sky high heels I was for once one of the tall people; although as you’ll see from the last pic, despite all efforts of elongation, still won with her supermodel height. The Day of the Dead ball was so much fun and I know this piece will have many more years of fun to come 💃🏻

‘Signature Sculpture’. This hat design is never the same, I go with the flow of the sculptural sinamay and try to make a judgement when it’s reached perfect form- let go or try to improve it and the shape is gone forever! This hat is playful, impactful yet there’s something wonderfully simple about it. It’s not fussy, but it is impressive. These are the four I have in stock but this is a design I can make in infinite combinations of colours, just ask. ‘Sinamay Sculpture’ is £149 and Ascot ready.

🌸 The headpiece story 🌸 As Andie and her signature headpiece hit the national press once again this year, I thought I’d tell you the story of how this adventure came about.

Back in 2020, I started following Andie on Instagram. She had lost her business during the pandemic and was documenting the ups and downs of following her dreams to become a Dahlia farmer. As a small business owner myself, I decided to send some flower crowns along with a note to say how brilliant I thought she was. They got lost in the post and just when I thought they’d never be received, up they popped on Andie’s feed being worn in true farm fabulousness!

Of course, Andie‘s business skyrocketed. The flower crowns were worn to Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and by the time the Chelsea Flower Show had re-launched in September 2021, Andie had herself a stand.

Andie wore what quickly became her signature piece, the Feather & Bloom Dahlia Headpiece. An iconic look alongside Andie’s charismatic presence drew the cameras and Andie made national press including one image which took up half of the the front page of the Telegraph saturday supplement.

Demand for the Dahlia Headpiece was high and by the time the next Chelsea Flower Show rolled around, Andie was stocking Dahlia headpieces on her stand. That same year, Andie won the RHS director General’s Award.

In 2023 Andie ordered 250 Dahlia Headpieces for the show. The studio was packed to the rafters with dahlias as I called in the troops to get them done in time. I just about fitted them in my car and had to pinch myself as I drove into the Chelsea grounds.

The headpiece has been admired from afar by the Queen and up close by the King, celebrities and garden enthusiasts alike. Back with a bang for 2025, day 1 of Chelsea saw Andie featured on page 3 of the Times and front page of the Times online, with the headpiece looking as iconic as ever.
