Well… what a day. 🥵🤍

If you were one of the 65 people who visited us today, thank you. (Mothers meeting you were incredible)

That might not sound like a huge number, but to a business that’s only been open 2 weeks, it’s massive. Every family that walks through our doors means the world to us.

I’m not going to lie… today was HOT. ☀️ We had the air con on downstairs and upstairs, but our little downstairs unit was definitely fighting for its life with that many people in the building. 😂

The good news is we’ve installed privacy window film this evening, which should help reduce some of the heat coming through the windows and give the air con a helping hand. (Those of you upstairs already know that one has been an absolute superstar! 😂)

Thank you to everyone for being so patient today.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that if something can be improved, I’ll improve it. Today’s already led to a couple of changes.

The first is our sock policy. It is in our Terms & Conditions, but I completely appreciate that not everyone reads those. From now on it’ll also be included in every booking confirmation, and just as a reminder, both adults and children need to wear socks at all times. If you forget, we’ve got socks available for £1.

The Nook&Play has only been open for two weeks. There’ll be little bumps as we grow, but I can promise one thing: I’ll always listen, I’ll always take feedback on board, and I’ll always do everything I can to make this little place as magical as possible.

Thank you for supporting this crazy dream of mine. I really don’t take any of it for granted.

Hey everyone. Its T, the owner of the Nook&Play 🫶🏻✨

We’ve had lots of new followers recently, so I thought I’d do a little introduction and explain how Nook&Play works.

The Nook&Play is a magical storybook role play space designed for children aged 0-5 years.

We have a few different ticket options:

☕ Nook&Natter – £5.50
Enjoy the use of our downstairs café area, with a drink included in your ticket. Perfect for meeting friends, catching up with other parents or simply getting out of the house.

🧚 Standard Roleplay Ticket – £8.50
This includes 90 minutes of play in our upstairs storybook role play area, with use of the downstairs café space too if you’d like to stay a little longer.

🍽️ Nook&Nibble – £12
Enjoy 90 minutes of role play upstairs, followed by a children’s Pick 4 meal downstairs.

We also welcome children aged 0-8 years during our 3:30pm-5pm session and at weekends. We simply ask that older children are mindful and respectful of our younger visitors.

We have a carpark too! Free to park.

The Nook&Play was created to be more than just a play space. It’s somewhere for children to imagine, explore and play, whilst parents can enjoy a good coffee and hopefully leave feeling a little less alone.

Phew 😮‍💨

After a fully booked morning, including a visit from Highstreet Centre Rawmarsh, we’re closing a little early today as we haven’t had any pre-bookings for this afternoon.

I’m heading home to my boys, a nice cold drink, and maybe even a cheeky BBQ. ☀️🍹

A little reminder that Mother’s Meeting is tomorrow from 9:30–11:00am. If you’re planning to come, please pre-book where possible. We have lots of visitors booked in tomorrow, so I need to keep a close eye on capacity.

Tomorrow is our very first Mothers Meeting 💫

It’s from 2:30pm–3:30pm (although feel free to come beforehand — this is all about convenience, not being on time). If you can’t make this one, we have one on Thursday morning at 9:30-11:30am too! 🫶🏻

If you’ve been looking for a reason to get out of the house, this is it.

Come and meet other mums, ask questions, get advice, have a rant, celebrate small wins, or just sit with people who get it. No pressure, no expectations — just a chance to build a community together.

The weather is set to be ridiculous tomorrow, so come and enjoy the air con, grab an iced drink, and take a breather while your little ones are entertained.

There’s food if you get hungry, coffee if you need it, and plenty of people who’ll understand exactly where you’re at.

With the hot weather, we appreciate many of you will be wearing sandals. However, for hygiene and safety reasons, all children and adults using the play space must wear socks.

Please remember to bring a pair with you. If you arrive without socks, you’ll need to purchase a pair from us before entering the play area.

Parents, let me de-influence you. ☀️

With the heat wave coming (32 degrees🥲)
you think it’s going to be all cute garden days and lovely trips to the park.

In reality it’s sweaty thighs, underboob sweat, chasing your toddler with sun cream, arguments about hats, sand in mouths and hearing “I’m too hot” every 5 minutes.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably feel the pressure to be outside too, cave, and then regret every life choice while melting in the heat alongside my boys😆

But when the heat, the whining and the sun cream battles get a bit much, you know where we are. 🤭🫶🏻

We’ve got aircon upstairs AND downstairs, iced coffees, matcha, and an indoor beach role play area where the kids can serve you a plastic burger while you sit in the cool. 🏖️🍔😂

Ahh I’m still so obsessed with all the little details

But can we talk about the treasure gems for a second? If you know you know😂💎

We created a jungle, a castle, a beach and even a fairy woodland…yet most of the children that have visited have been absolutely obsessed with tipping our treasure gems in and out of a bucket.

And honestly? We love it.

The little details are what make a space special. Whilst they’re busy playing, they’re also developing hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and exploring different ways to play.

The Nook & Play isn’t just a role-play space. Every area has been designed with play in mind, because we know children all play differently.

It’s the little things that often create the biggest magic ✨
