Saturday at Devon County Show means one thing in the pig section…

Time to let your hair down a bit. 🐷

After all the serious showing is done, the pig section gets to show its fun side with Piggy Pranks and the fancy dress class — and honestly, it’s one of the best bits of the show.

We’re proud to be donating FYB vouchers for the Piggy Pranks classes, because anything involving pigs, people, chaos and a bit of friendly competition is exactly the sort of thing we love to support.

And yes… we’ll also be taking part in the fancy dress class ourselves, so if you’re around the pig lines, come and have a watch. No promises of elegance. Plenty of promise of entertainment.

This is what showing is really about — the stock, the graft, the laughs, and the people who make the showground feel like home.

Heading to Devon County Show?

Keep an eye out for FYB in the livestock lines this week.

We’re proud to be supporting two brilliant show teams:

Higher Chylasson Farm in the pig lines
Prescombe Herd across pigs and cattle

Both teams will have FYB flyers available, and if something catches your eye while you’re at the show, they’ll also be able to help you place an order there and then.

Orders will be sent direct to you, so you don’t have to worry about carrying anything around the showground.

We won’t have a full trade stand this season — that’s something we’re working towards for next year — but for now, this is our way of bringing FYB into the livestock lines and backing the people doing the graft behind the scenes.

If you’re passing the pig lines or cattle lines, go and say hello, have a look at the stock, and check out the flyers.

This one was built around yards, show rings, late nights, early starts, muddy boots, borrowed hands, shared laughs and people who just get it.

Farm Yard Born isn’t about having to own the farm, be born into it, or prove you’re “farm enough”.

It’s for the ones who choose this life.
The ones who turn up.
The ones who help out.
The ones who love the countryside, the stock, the shows, the people, and the chaos that comes with it.

Some days, life comes before posting.

We missed yesterday because a close friend needed us — and when that happens, you drop everything and go.

This video is from last year, when we were stranded on the side of the A30 with pigs and dogs on board, heading to a show, after the bearing went on the truck.

That day, we were the ones who needed help.

People rallied round to get the pigs safely back to the farm, and the same friend who needed us yesterday dropped everything, came and helped fix the truck, and even gave us their car so we could still get to the show and support other exhibitors — even though our own pigs couldn’t get there.

That’s what this community is about.

People turning up when it matters.

Tag someone who’s dropped everything to help you in a time of need — they deserve a mention.
