The Raging Bull ๐ฎ
I went to visit the Raging Bull used during the commonwealth games opening ceremony!
He is currently living in Centenary Square next to the library and is an impressive 10 Meters (30 feet) tall. There's a lot of symbolism behind the Raging Bull in Birmingham; the women's rights movements that featured during the opening ceremony, the industrial heritage of the city (it's made from machine parts from factories around the West Midlands), and it has the names of the 21 people killed during the 1974 Birmingham Pub-Bombings inscribed in memorial across it's head.
It's a stunning new landmark for the city and hopefully it will continue to be after they move it to a permanent home later this year.
There were so many people taking photos earlier in the day that we had to come back when it was quieter.
We weren't in Birmingham during the Commonwealth games, but we watched alot of it on TV while we were ill, so it was fun to see this in person finally! ๐ฆฌ
My ears are almost as big as his!
Does your home-city/town have any special landmarks?
