Supply and installation of an Ohme ePod for a regular customer of ours.

Due to their previous consumer unit not having any 30mA RCD protection, our advice was to upgrade the consumer at the same time. The client happily agreed.👍🏽

We were recently approached by a customer after they had a Electrical Test and Inspection carried out on their rental property by another contractor.

The client asked us for a second opinion on the quotation they had provided (close to £3000.00) , for the installation to be brought to a satisfactory standard.

After viewing a copy of the Electrical Installation condition Report, we advised they they have the installation retested, as some of the work the previous contractor had said required doing, was very hard to believe.

We were asked to carry out this test again, and on doing so it was apparent that the cables within consumer unit hadn't even been disconnected for testing purposes, as there was cobwebs within the consumer unit. Testing the circuits, we found the faults noted on the previous report were nothing but make-believe. It was also clear that they hadn't even tested the electrical installation within the detached garage.

The property did need minor work to bring it up to a satisfactory standard, which we were asked to carry out. However the problems we found weren't even mentioned on the previous report and the problems noted on the previous report, weren't even there! 🤯

A couple of Ohme Home Pro installed in Tadcaster over the last two weeks.

When we explain to customers that the DNO need to be contacted about the connection of an EV charge point, we are usually asked why no one else quoting for the work has ever mentioned this.

The simple answer is that the installation of an additional 32 amp load to most existing supplies, require an application to the DNO.
If your installer isn't following these guidelines and problems occur with either yours or your neighbours electricity supply, the onus will lie with you, the homeowner.

These two installs, required neighbouring houses to be de-looped before we were granted permission to install. One was only completed last week after the initial application was submitted in August of last year. The other after an application in October of last year.

So if your installer says he can "install next week" , there is a chance that the DNO hasn't been informed!

Another install in our home town of Tadcaster.
Here, the customer opted for the Hypervolt tethered EV Charge point.

Not the easiest or shortest of cable routes due to new flooring recently been install throughout the ground floor. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣. However we got there in the end. 👍🏽
