'Is It Sew' - A small, independent business creating handmade textile products using modern and quirky fabrics. Cushions, bags, aprons and more!

Is It Sew was set up and is run solely by myself, Charlotte Evans. I source the fabric from London's best shops, come up with the product designs and make all items myself. I use only good quality fabrics and try and buy organic cottons where possible. Most designs are unique, with a single item being made at a time. However, if needed I can easily make multiples of the same design. Additionally,

I am happy to take custom orders if you have something more specific in mind. I am happy to ship worldwide and love seeing my items go off to far flung places across the globe. Hablo español and je parle français, if it is easier to communicate in these languages please send me a message. :)

Sweatshirt Sundays! I have been meaning to make this Toaster Sweater from for ages but accidentally bought the wrong length of fabric not once but TWICE. So now I also have two half metres of this fabric that I don't know what to do with 🤦🏼‍♀️It was a nice easy sew, but I wasn't happy with the fit at all when I first finished - swipe across the last pic to see. Ended up taking almost 2 inches off the bottom of the sleeves and brought the inside sleeve seams in A LOT. Would make the whole thing a size smaller next time. Super happy with it now though and can't wait to wear to work tomorrow 🥰

Finally finished my Ness Skirt. A great pattern but unfortunately my machine did decide to eat the skirt at every possible opportunity, making it quite a stressful sew. Many thanks to for the remote moral support 😂 I also played serious thread chicken and just made it to the end with barely a thread left on the spools 😅 Fabric is a great rusty coloured needlecord I nabbed in a destash by (thanks!). Keen to try another one soon with some black needlecord without the contrast topstitch as I think this is what my machine didn't agree with! I've paired this with a stripy Freya top I made a little while back and wear ALL THE TIME. Swipe all the way across for a bonus pic of my dear Milo.

I've started supplying my favey coffee shop with reusable face coverings! Just dropped off a batch with a load of new fabric choices! I made a very skimpy dress, just in time for it to start raining ☔ 😒 I got these two gorrrrgeous fabrics from .co.uk remnants sale and knew I wanted to make an Ogden Cami (by ) with at least one piece! Swipe across to see the Cami I made this morning in the pink colour way which turned out really well and for once fits across the chest properly and yet doesn't leave me in danger of flashing anyone 👌🏻 After a bit of browsing online at other people's makes, I decided to try out a dress hack by simply lengthening the top and I'm so pleased with it. Have been skipping around the house in it since I finished it. Can't wait until I can take it on holiday somewhere tropical!!

I made my first shirt! 🎉👔🎉👔 I was a bit baffled by the collar construction for a while but got it sorted in the end. I also discovered the joy of an automatic buttonhole 😱❤️ I want to put buttons on everything now. I used New Look 6197 for this, which also has a version of the shirt for women which I'm very excited to make next!
