Noost Knit Co. is looking to recruit a part-time General Assistant for their shop on West Argyle Street.
A lot has changed since we first opened our doors this time last year, and we’re looking to expand our team.
As a General Assistant, you will have a varied role. Through the summer season, much of the work will involve providing excellent customer service to customers in-store.
We sell a range of our own knitwear that we make right here in Ullapool, and helping customers appreciate that provenance and find a connection with our range is key. Our own products will also soon be sold online, and the successful candidate will help in preparing and packaging orders for shipping.
We also sell a range of hand-knitting products, and an interest or some basic knowledge in this area is desirable (training can be provided).
Essential Skills:
• Friendly and welcoming when working with the public
• Good time management and proactive attitude
• Basic IT skills to work with stock keeping and our tills
• Enthusiasm for knitting or creative practice in general
• Able to maintain an attractive shop space
• Enjoys providing excellent customer service
The role has the potential to diversify after September, depending on your skills, experience and interests. Other aspects of the role may include helping with general administration, stock keeping, community projects and content creation.
In time, you may also choose to start training in some manufacturing tasks, such as tying in ends, labelling, finishing and running our Shima knitting machines. Training and support will be provided at every step.
