What are the benefits of shopping at small, independent stores? 🛍️
There are so many that it has been difficult to narrow it down to what we feel are the three main points. Here they are. Would you agree?
💖✨
*Service:
Indies pride themselves on exceptional customer service. Nothing is ever too much and the extra mile comes as standard. Often you would get the owner of the business helping you choose something suitable whether online or in-store. Not likely to happen at H&M or ASOS 😊
*Product Selection:
It's unique. Chances are if you stumble upon something in a small store it will not be available anywhere else. Things are usually made in small quantities by unusual designers, craftsmen and artisans. Indie buyers search the world to bring you the most amazing brands and products. In addition, independent shops are attuned to their customers' needs. Their research and experience means that they will know what you need and want before you have identified it yourself. Without crystal balls (maybe)! 💖
*Supporting Local Economy:
Money spent locally stays local and feeds directly into local economy. It benefits everyone by creating thriving, vibrant communities ☀️🌸

A bit of shopping brightens our day ☀️🛍️
It's way too easy now to forget the small independent stores which are still mostly closed unless they sell essentials and head for the large Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's, ASDA etc to peruse the aisles. Safety concerns aside, shopping from the big guys takes away from the little, quirky places that make local communities so vibrant 💖🎁🌱
So when the next bout of cabin fever strikes, wrap up warm and head out to your local high street. Peek through the display windows (did you notice that a lot of boutiques change them often?), note down local shops' websites or social media and enjoy guilt free shopping later with your cuppa 😊☕

Apologies for the long silence. January has been a month of figuring out a number of things, adjusting to new ways and sowing new seeds, figuratively speaking 🌱
February is going to be a month of love - love for you, the amazing independent fighters; love for our customers; love for ourselves and those close to us 💖
Please remember - you are doing great, you are amazing and you absolutely rock!! Keep on fighting and bringing gorgeous style and fashion to the customers. They will love you for it! 😊💗🛍️

The retail industry is experiencing unprecedented difficulties. To have unclear trade agreements with ambiguous small print only exacerbates the situation. As we are preparing for the new season amidst lockdown rules and Brexit regulations, we are not able to source new stock as many of the EU suppliers and indeed courier companies are unable to navigate the new TCA stipulations.
We are struggling to deliver customer orders to Ireland and other EU member states as these are also affected by the new regulations.
We need clarity. We need simple step by step instructions to pass on to our staff, suppliers and transport companies. The fact that the new Trade and Cooperation Agreement left us without any time to prepare makes the need for clarifications even more urgent.
Therefore, we ask for an industry specific guide to be released by the government.

In addition, we would like to ask for a review on the rules of origin. This rule alone causes immeasurable complications. In many cases additional paperwork will need to be produced to certify origins of constituent parts of any given product, which can be many. Small businesses like ours rely on the suppliers to provide all the needed information who may not have the resources to do so. This jeopardises the supply chain and may leave the retailers with significant gaps in the ranges and present additional financial pressure on the already stretched businesses.
