I decided some time ago to stop dressmaking professionally and to focus my business on soft furnishings. The wedding which this Mother of the Bride dress will be worn at though, like so many others, has been delayed repeatedly. I therefore finished my last piece today. The lady in question opted for a copy of a favourite slip dress, with pleat detail at the bust in a fab photo realistic hydrangea print. Swipe for the original and detail.

It’s a little premature but I’m too excited not to share immediately! I’m working up to a change of business name with a new website and today I got my logo. I’m very proud to say that my daughter Amelia, who is off to study illustration at Uni soon ( on Insta) has made real exactly what I visualised. Gosh, I really do need to build the website now don’t I?!

Bespoke feather wrapped foam base cushion for a window seat with matching and complimentary scatters. Very careful with the pattern matching here as I wanted it to run round the front of the seat cushion.

Just unrolling a fabric delivery from and was very pleased to see this for this first time. Very helpful as it's not always obvious! Thank you Vanessa 🙂

Little details make the bespoke difference:
1) pulling a thread is the only way to get a straight cut on fine fabric such as this
2) Taking the time to make sure the gathers are even
3) The finished result. They're actually obscuring one of the best view of Bath I've seen from a property!

Covers to fit bespoke cushions for a lovely little summer house just outside Bath here. Box cushions seem to be the equivalent of Marmite for those of us making soft furnishings, personally I really enjoy them. They look so neat when finished!

A blackout interlined Roman blind finished and awaiting collection. I changed my method of construction a little while ago; rather than 'stab stitching' to hold all the layers together I now use interlocking stitches to hold each to the next. These are designed to be invisible and the real bonus is no pin pricks of light as you can see 🙂

My garden got pretty trashed when the workshop was built so I've more or less started again. It's starting to come together, there will also be a chamomile lawn at the far end. Loving how it looks in this gorgeous sunshine today 😀
