PRODUCT RECALL ALERT – MAXI-COSI FAMILYFIX SLIDE PRO BASE ⚠️🚨

Parents, grandparents and carers are urged to check whether they own a Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro Base following an official product recall.

The recall affects certain bases manufactured between 6 September 2025 and 24 March 2026.

The issue relates to the installation indicator, which may incorrectly display a green confirmation even when the child car seat is not fully attached to the base.

This could lead users to believe the seat is securely connected when it is not, increasing the risk of movement or detachment in a collision.

If you own a Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix Slide Pro Base:

❌ Stop using the product immediately

🔍 Check whether your base is affected

📞 Follow the instructions provided by Maxi-Cosi regarding the recall

We need to stop treating rear-facing like a stage children should be in a hurry to grow out of.

These boys are different ages and use different seats, but they are both travelling in the same direction.

At Wirral Car Seats, I recommend rear-facing for as long as possible, because more time rear-facing means more protection and that's why I stock Axkid and Britax, two brands that offer forward facing to 125cm

There’s no legroom

It causes travel sickness

Rear facing children often have more comfort, more flexibility, and more visibility than many adults assume. Most importantly, they are safe.

Sometimes the biggest barrier is not the seat. It is the misconception.
