Darla is a premium slow fashion brand that celebrates the beauty of bygone eras with handmade-to-order British designs. Each of our ethically-made creations is inspired by the delightful charm of femininity, and is crafted with dreamy details like frills, ruffles and oversized collars. To put it simply, we create sustainable clothes for lovers of nostalgia, romance and whimsy. Every on

e of our styles is hand cut, sewn and finished in-house at our Greater Manchester studio, using mostly dead-stock fabrics. We source all our materials from within in the UK and every piece is lovingly made to order and extremely limited edition.

Darla launched it first collection in 2021 by pattern cutter and dressmaker Amy He. Amy has worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years, owning a beloved high street brand that was stocked around the world, as well as running a highly successful London design studio that has created garments for international retailers, celebrities and film studios. However as a true lover of dressmaking, Amy always dreamed of bringing her expertise to the slow fashion movement. Her new independent fashion label Darla is her way of expressing her passion for the art of craft while also doing her part to protect the planet. She hopes Darla and its design studio can offer women a sustainable way to own beautiful clothing that’s made to last and has a story to tell.

Hello it’s been almost 2 years some I stepped back from my brand Darla and decided to concentrate on design and pattern cutting for other brands. I’ve chosen the username Studio Darla so it’s easy to recognise the brand. You may also come across another studiodarla Depop account. That’s my old one, which I’m currently trying to recover. All new listings will be uploaded to the new account only.

A couple of weeks ago I ran a poll asking where you prefer to shop, and Vinted actually came out on top. However, after spending ages uploading, Vinted removed all my listings as their terms and conditions don’t allow the sale of your own designs. That’s totally fair, I just wish I’d read it sooner.

So instead, I’ll be uploading 20 pieces to Depop, with mini drops every Sunday at 9am until all studio stock is gone.

⭐️ Happy New Year! ⭐️

How dreamy is this photo taken by the talented for 🩰.

I made this skirt as part of a dress sample a few years ago with some scrap organza fabric. Organza is one of the hardest fabrics to work with and I remember being so frustrated trying to keep the fabric stable so I could sew those straight lines. We later cut this skirt piece off the dress and made it into a sample for our SS23 collection but ultimately never brought it into production because the time making it and cost didn’t align.

I can’t tell you just how many samples I have of pieces that didn’t make it into production because of the complexity of the pattern. That’s what’s so frustrating about having a small fashion brand, a lot of creativity is replaced with things you know are going to make you money.

I’m currently going through boxes of samples and old stock to get them listed on my Vinted account over the next few weeks. I won’t be doing a launch as such as I can never stick to deadlines but I will let everyone know when the first lot of samples goes up and more will be added on a daily basis as and when I can do it. There’s so many beautiful pieces that I’m tempted to keep but I made a New Year’s resolution to LET GO of things I no longer need! So everything must go 🙏🏻For those that have been following my journey for a few years there will also be some pieces from my old brand ModDolly too!

The last day for you to buy MADE TO ORDER on our website will be this Friday the 15th but you can still place orders, it will just mean that they will be made when we get back into the office after Christmas.
However we will start adding any pieces that we have in stock onto the website this week for guaranteed Christmas delivery 📦

Don’t forget you can rent Darla for over the Xmas period . The min rental period is 3 days BUT we will let you keep hold of them for the week at no extra cost as we know how postage can be over the festive period.

Introducing our Gabrielle Sheer Blouse💌

The Gabrielle sheer blouse is a new shorter variation of our best selling Fleur Blouse. The top is cut with an open front with satins ties. Made from a dead-stock black bow embossed lace, the blouse is unlined and totally sheer.

Dare to wear it on its own or layer over your favourite blouse or party dress. The Gabrielle blouse currently comes in sizes S/M which fits UK 8-10 and also M/L which fits UK 12-14.

The *Limited Edition* Noelle dress is finally online! Made from a soft brushed dead-stock tartan fabric, the style features a v-neckline with an empire collar and velvet bow. Finished with a tiered skirt and lined with the softest jersey.

These are only available in size S (UK 8-10) and M (UK 12) but we can make this dress in other sizes in other tartan fabrics so get in touch.
