And another commission is complete and it’s another Daisy Saddlebag.
This one has been made from my collection of saddles and tack.

My next commission was a slightly tricky one as the saddle had both a knee roll and a thigh roll on the saddle flap, this doesn’t leave a lot of leather to work with but luckily the sweat flaps were suitable to use.
My customer chose the beautiful Daisy Saddlebag design.
I’ve used grey waxed thread for the hand- stitching and we went with silver fittings to match.
My customer supplied the browband which has become the very sophisticated handle, who doesn’t love a subtle bling.
My customer requested a red and yellow lining as a tribute to her beautiful Spanish horse which I was happy to do.
I love that the saddles branding shows pride of place on this bag.
A very pleasing result. ❤️💛

I literally can’t resist making an occasional Tote bag, it’s like a little treat to do in-between orders.
Ive had these lovely buckles for a while now and this is certainly a very stylish way to use them.
I’m going to add handles to this bag later - made from a vintage heavy horse leather show lead.
This one’s just got to be called “Flash” hasn’t it?

A very beautiful commission of a saddle to handbags complete.
My customer sent me her lovely saddle, leather hide and a stunning browband.
Here is the result
A large sized Lucky and a very cute girth guard bag.
Both sporting the same coloured gusset and matching stitching.
The across body strap and the browband handle are interchangeable making this set very user friendly.
Super pleased with this result- what a beautiful pair!

Who can remember my handbags with this gorgeous upholstery velvet side panel?
I’m itching to make another saddlebag featuring this absolutely stunning piece of art.
It perfectly sums up our love of our horses.

Another Commission complete today and then I’ve had the afternoon off walking the Dorset hillocks.
There is a life outside of making handbags and I really have to remind myself that every now and again, I’m an all or nothing type of person.

My latest commission complete…
An all black Daisy Saddlebag complete with a detachable browband handle and an across body strap.
This bag has been made from my saddle stock.

My latest commission of a handbag made from a customers very special saddle.
The Branston but with a slightly different flap- the wavy flap.
So the saddlebag was made completely from my customers saddle and tack.
Grey waxed thread hand-stitching.
The only non saddle leather was the matching grey gusset lining.
My customer requested her browband was to become a handle and I used her bridle to make a shoulder strap.
The breastplate became an across body strap and it also became the closure.
The saddle makers plate was incorporated too into the closure strap.
Six keyrings were made from the off-cuts.
A very pleasing end to the week.

My latest commission of a saddle to a handbag is this beautiful Original Rucksack that can also be used as a large handbag.
Here it is as a handbag
The strap easily converts to Rucksack straps.

The Original design is the first ever design to be made into a handbag from a saddle.
It uses the whole of the saddle flap so it can be a large bag.
This one has been made from the whole of the saddle, the seat leather, the panel leather, the gullet leather, the skirt and the flaps.
My customers girth has been used for the straps and the browband as the handy handle.
This one is having fitted an inner pocket and a key tie.
A lovely commission but a lot of work, this bag was made over two long days.
