ATTENTION current L&L family. Our new term is now open for priority bookings (email to book). Don’t delay as the places filled very quickly last term and we will be opening to the general public at the weekend.

We will also be opening a third class for new babies (pre-movers) subject to sufficient interest - if you would like to register your interest please message / email.

Today we gifted a book to every child who joined us at our York community classes 📚💛

Here’s a little video of Rose the week before she turned two. Her early signing here is just beautiful! Her singing is also a perfect reminder that books don’t have to be about reading the text — they can be enjoyed in so many different ways.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🤍

There are only two spaces left for families who may want to join us for our new term!

Our classes have been filled with our wonderful returning families and through word of mouth, which means the world to us.

From an idea that was only imagined this time last year, to a beautiful community of families who keep coming back, this is more than we could ever have hoped for. We’re feeling incredibly blessed this Christmas time.

We currently have just 2 spaces remaining in our Movers class, suitable for confident crawlers through to pre-school age. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested in joining our lovely community.

If you’ve missed out this time (or if the timings don’t quite work), please do still contact us. If there’s enough interest, we’ll be adding a third class after the half-term break.

We are so excited to bring our much loved, Deaf-aware music classes to DURHAM!

We’ve secured funding to bring inclusive, BSL-supported music classes with live professional musicians to the community.

For D/deaf children & CODAs under 5 and their families.

Language and lullabies is one of the only deaf-aware music classes for baby/toddlers in York.

Importantly, alongside spoken English, we use British Sign Language. This is essential for ensuring equitable access for Deaf children, and means that Deaf and hearing children can enjoy music together.

Many of our Deaf babies are now starting nursery, where Deaf-awareness, BSL and accessible music-making are not commonplace. This presents yet another barrier for Deaf children, and an additional worry for their parents and carers.

In September, we piloted a Language and Lullabies Nursery Project, supporting one of our Deaf children in their nursery setting. It was a huge success.

We want to take L&L into the nurseries of all our Deaf participants, but we do not have the financial means to do so.

So we have applied to the London North Eastern Railway Customer and Community Investment Fund.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted. But we need your help. To get to the next stage, we require your votes.

Please help us get BSL, deaf awareness and accessible music-making into nurseries by voting for Language and Lullabies.
