It's been a week since we said our final goodbyes to a dear friend and business partner. For seven years, you stood beside me, helping to shape Ekuaaddo into what it is today. You were more than a business partner—you were the heartbeat of bringing my designs and concepts to life through your skills in dyeing.
You taught me the beauty and intricacy of batik with patience and passion, making sure that I not only understood the craft but cherished it as deeply as you did. Through every challenge, your understanding spirit shone through. When things didn’t go as planned, you never hesitated to lend a hand or offer a solution, often at your own expense. Your generosity—whether in time, effort, or spirit—never went unnoticed.
There were days when redyeing garments meant extra work, yet you never charged me for it, reminding me that partnership is about more than transactions. You exemplified kindness, trust, and dedication. And even though there were times I could tell you were visibly ill, you stayed positive and assured me everything was well, which again goes to show how brave you were.
Thank you for everything—for your guidance and your unwavering support. Rest in peace, Nana. You are deeply missed, but your impact will never fade.
