Just a normal day in Ayawaso West…..

I cut the sod for construction of a new SHS in my beloved Ayawaso West Wuogon. This project will be fully funded by a group of friends and myself. Some corporate bodies have also started donating sand, cement, stones and iron rods as well as cash. It is my hope this project will be completed in 9 months. Insha Allah.

I joined Ghana's Ambassador to the US HE Amb Victor Smith and the private organizers of Region 17 in Washington DC to formally launch the Region 17 initiative. Ghanaians abroad remit billions of dollars each year to Ghana. My message was simple: The support of Ghanaians abroad to collectively pull resources and channel it into agriculture and value addition is long overdue. It is not impossible. Let's make agriculture great!

Still In Yendi, I made a stop at a processing facility which is almost completed. When finished, it will process tons of maize and soya into finished products for local and foreign consumption. The factory will start buying excess maize and soya from farmers around very soon.
