New record for biggest Arapaima caught!

An 88-inch long Arapaima caught in Region Nine, last week. This is a new record for the size of this freshwater fish.

Since 2011-2021, the Rewa EvoLodge reported that the record for an arapaima’s size was 86 inches.

“We are so proud for the community to take the time to conserve the species in this area and as a result we can see the size that leaves in the rivers, ponds and lakes of Guyana.
Indeed and truely, Guyana is the land of the Giants,” a Facebook post from the lodge stated.
