This chandelier is one of the six centerpiece in Belvedere Palace’s Marble Hall, Vienna. The ceiling drawing features a colourful pastel depiction of Prince Eugene as the new Apollo, decorated with geometric patterns that speaks to the stylistic characteristics of the baroque period.

The photographer skillfully captured the contrasts between the chandelier and the ceiling, highlighting the excellent craftsmanship and structural beauty of the piece.

Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous.

At Villa Necchi Campiglio, Renaissance age extravagance mixes with modern design at the turn of the 20th century. The villa weathered the Second World War and was passed through many hands since it’s first construction in 1890. It was first Villa of its size with an outdoor swimming pool in Milan and was the filming location for Luca Fuadagnio’s I am love decades later.

How fascinating that a simple plot of land, with a little bit of imagination, can transform into an amazing piece of art transcending a century.
