Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring Scenic Area: This constitutes the primary hub for camel riding in Dunhuang. The camel caravans are centrally managed by the scenic area administration, ensuring strict safety standards and comprehensive supporting facilities. All camels are Bactrian camels—docile by nature and highly trained.
Mingsha Mountain Core Camel Route: The standard loop route begins at the camel station near the scenic area entrance, winds along the foothills of Mingsha Mountain, passes through clusters of sand dunes and the vicinity of the Crescent Spring observation deck, and finally returns to the camel station. Extended or "in-depth" routes are also available—requiring an additional fee—which ascend to higher dunes to offer panoramic views of the entire landscape.
