Relive the incredible moments of Fashion Meets Innovation: A Spectacular Showcase at Shanghai Fashion Week

From March 26 to 30, 2025, the West Bund Art Centre came alive with cutting-edge creativity during Shanghai Fashion Week. The Shanghai edition of “Transforming Fashion Design with 3D Innovation – A Dual-City Exhibition” brought together visionary Master designers and groundbreaking techniques under one roof, captivating audiences with the future of fashion.

A highlight of the exhibition was the couture collection by Michael Stewart, the 2024 LVMH Savoir-Faire Prize winner, who mesmerized attendees with his mastery of sculptural design and contemporary craftsmanship. Adding to the spectacle were the innovative works of Robert Curry and Simon Ungless, which pushed boundaries by blending 3D cutting techniques with experimental textile printing.

The Opening Ceremony attracted key support from industry leaders such as Dongfang International Group, the Shanghai Fashion Designers Association, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), reinforcing the event’s significance as a hub for cross-border dialogue and collaboration.

Organized by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA) and proudly supported by CCIDA HK, this exhibition is part of the Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) 2024/25. It continues to fulfill FACP’s mission of fostering creative exchange, technical excellence, and fashion education across Asia.

重溫「時尚與創新」在上海時裝周亮相的精彩時刻
上海西岸藝術中心於2025年3月26日至30日在上海時裝週期間化身為創意熱點，展現時尚前膽。「立體裁剪 – 時尚變革雙城展覽（上海站）」將富有遠見的大師設計師和突破性技術匯聚於一堂，為觀眾帶來對未來時尚的深刻想像與啟發。

展覽焦點之一為2024年 LVMH Savoir-Faire 大獎得主 Michael Stewart 的高級訂製系列，以其雕塑設計和當代工藝的精湛掌握征服全場，盡展針織工藝與設計語言的極致魅力。Robert Curry 與印花藝術大師 Simon Ungless 亦展示其結合立體剪裁與實驗性印花的前衛作品，突破材質與結構的既有框架。

🌟 FACP 2024/25 Master Course Highlights

Presented by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA)’s Fashion Atelier Certificate Programme (FACP) and funded by CCIDA HK. At the heart of this year’s FACP journey were three globally renowned fashion masters — Shingo Sato, Reagen Evans, and Michael Stewart — who led transformative workshops that challenged, inspired, and redefined how participants approach fashion construction.

From origami-inspired Transformational Reconstruction (TR)、3 Dimensional cutting and experimental draping techniques developed across decades of innovation and advance craftmanship, the Master Class offered a rare opportunity for Hong Kong Fashion design industry professional to engage deeply with advanced 3D cutting techniques.

Each visionary Master brought their distinctive creative philosophy and innovative methodological approach :
:✂️ Shingo Sato introduced the Transformational Reconstruction (TR) method, a groundbreaking approach to pattern making and draping, to create innovative garment structures.
✂️ Reagan Evans delved into cutting-edge techniques in 3D cutting and creative draping, transforming design concepts into innovative and dynamic garment forms.
✂️ Michael Stewart explored the art of manipulating jersey to craft sculptural and dynamic garments. creating innovative silhouettes and textures in both jersey and woven fabrics.
