S Colin Heaney is a maverick in its truest sense.

Having worked successfully across a range of mediums since the 60s, his ability to constantly innovate and design with passion and instinct has led him to be recognised as an acclaimed artist and designer the world over. Having worked successfully as a glass artist for more than 20 years, it was in 2006 Colin begun working with Photoshop and discovered the endless potential of the medium to digita

lly layer and transform images. Colin began working with silks, enraptured with the luxurious flowing quality of the fabric. In doing so, he laid the foundations for his namesake resort-wear label, with kaftans acting as the blank canvas for his digital prints. Inherent to the Colin Heaney label was a feminine sensibility – with sensuous shapes and vibrant prints designed to enhance the female form and empower the wearer.

“When a woman slips into one of my designs, I see a beautiful transformation within her,” says Colin.

“That's when my art truly comes alive.”

Gaining attention from fashion tastemakers at home and abroad, the label expanded to offer flowing kimonos, form flattering dresses, classic swimsuits and home wares – all exquisitely printed. Colin works with a talented team of marketing and design creatives from his masterpiece home Casa Blu in Byron Bay, growing both the eponymous resort wear brand and festival fashion label, Liberated Heart.
