There has been plenty of negative talk about Wexford Main Street lately, so we thought it was worth taking a moment to look at what we still have right here in the heart of our town.

When you actually start listing them, the number of independent, locally owned and family-run businesses is something Wexford should be very proud of.

Fehily’s Pharmacy since 1960.

The Wexford Book Centre and Fitzgerald Menswear since 1977.

And alongside those long established names we look forward to seeing newer independent businesses continuing to open, invest and take a chance on Wexford town centre.

That is a lot of local jobs.
A lot of livelihoods.
A lot of families.
And a lot of people who continue to believe in Wexford.

Of course Main Street has its challenges every town does. But sometimes it’s worth looking at what we have, rather than only focusing on what we’ve lost.

💜💛 Wexford Main Street is still full of independent businesses, family businesses and people working hard every day to keep our town vibrant.

So next time you’re in town, pop through a door, have a coffee, browse a shop or pick up something local.

Support local when you can. It really does make a difference.

And I am sure that there is so many to list that we have surely missed somebody, so please tag them below, the fact that this list is this long is something worth celebrating. 👏
