1. सदियों पुराना इतिहास । Sadiyon Purana Itihas (History)

Hindi: माना जाता है कि चंदेरी कपड़े की शुरुआत वैदिक काल में हुई थी और इसकी स्थापना भगवान कृष्ण के चचेरे भाई शिशुपाल ने की थी। इसका मतलब है कि यह कला सदियों से जीवित है और इसके हर धागे में इतिहास का एक हिस्सा बसा है।

English: It is believed that Chanderi fabric dates back to the Vedic period and was introduced by Shishupal, Lord Krishna’s cousin. This means the art has lived through centuries, and every thread carries a piece of history.

2. मुग़ल बादशाहों की मुहर (The Mughal Seal)

Hindi: मुग़ल काल में चंदेरी इतनी कीमती थी कि हर थान पर राजशाही मुहर लगाई जाती थी। औरंगज़ेब के समय में तो इसे तोहफे के रूप में विदेशों में भी भेजा जाता था।

English: During the Mughal era, Chanderi was so precious that every roll of fabric was marked with a royal seal. It was often sent as a prestigious gift to foreign lands.

3. राजघरानों की पसंद (The Royal Patronage )

Hindi: 13वीं शताब्दी में, चंदेरी राजघरानों का पसंदीदा कपड़ा था। ग्वालियर के सिंधिया शासकों ने विशेष रूप से इस कला को संरक्षण दिया, जिससे यह प्रतिष्ठा और शालीनता का प्रतीक बन गया। पुराने समय में चंदेरी मुख्य रूप से राजा-महाराजाओं और रानियों के लिए बुनी जाती थी। सोने और चांदी के धागे न केवल कपड़ों की खूबसूरती बढ़ाते थे, बल्कि यह पहनने वाले की शक्ति और अमीरी का प्रतीक भी थे। ग्वालियर के सिंधिया राजघराने की रानियां अक्सर शुद्ध सोने की ज़री वाली चंदेरी साड़ियां पहनती थीं।

The Queens of the Scindia dynasty in Gwalior were known for wearing Chanderi sarees crafted with pure gold Zari.

4. पानी का प्रभाव (The Influence of Water)

Hindi: चंदेरी के बुनकरों का मानना है कि वहाँ की 'बेतवा नदी' के पानी में कुछ खास है। उसी पानी से जब धागों को धोया जाता है, तो चंदेरी में वह खास चमक और "क्रिस्प" (Crispness) आती है जो दुनिया में कहीं और नहीं मिल सकती।

English: Local weavers believe the water of the 'Betwa River' plays a key role. Washing the threads in this water gives the fabric a unique crispness and luster that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

5. ताने और बाने का जादू (The Magic of Silk & Cotton)

Hindi: क्या आप जानते हैं कि चंदेरी की चमक और मजबूती का राज क्या है? इसमें 'ताने' (Warp) में सिल्क का इस्तेमाल होता है जिससे चमक आती है, और 'बाने' (Weft) में कॉटन का इस्तेमाल होता है जिससे पहनने में आराम मिलता है। यह "Silk-Cotton" का अनोखा संगम है।

Hindi: असली हाथ से बुनी चंदेरी की पहचान उसके पीछे की तरफ से होती है। अगर आप साड़ी को पलट कर देखें, तो हाथ से बुनी गई 'बूटी' के धागे कटे हुए नहीं होते, बल्कि बहुत ही सफाई से बुने होते हैं।

English: You can identify a real hand-woven Chanderi by looking at the reverse side. The motifs (Buttis) are neatly woven into the fabric, not cut or messy like machine-made ones.

7. हाथ से बने अनूठे डिज़ाइन (Hand-Crafted Motifs)

Hindi: चंदेरी पर बनने वाले डिज़ाइन (बूटियाँ) मूल रूप से केवल सोने और चांदी के धागों से बुने जाते थे। इसके कुछ खास मोटिफ्स में अशर्फी (सोने का सिक्का), नलफरमा (अनोखी बेल), और मोर/कमल शामिल हैं, जो प्रकृति के साथ इसके गहरे जुड़ाव को दर्शाते हैं।

English: The designs (Buttis) on Chanderi were originally woven only with gold and silver threads. Some iconic motifs include Asharfi (gold coin), Nalferma (unique floral vine), and Peacock/Lotus, showing its deep connection with nature.

Hindi: चंदेरी रेशम और कपास का मिश्रण है, लेकिन इसकी अनोखी चमक रेशम के धागों को 'डीगम' (degum) न करने से आती है। इससे कपड़े में एक प्राकृतिक कड़कपन और सजीली चमक बनी रहती है।

English: Chanderi is a blend of silk and cotton, but its unique shine comes from not 'degumming' the silk threads. This retains a natural crispness and a raw, sophisticated luster.
