Chanderi moves with quiet luminosity,
Soft in presence, yet rich in character,
A Kanjeevaram border grounding every fold,
With the weight of tradition woven into it.

The dupatta follows in seamless continuity,
Carrying the same rhythm of weave and border,
Between lightness and structure, a harmony emerges,
Rooted deeply in the language of Indian textiles.

A whisper of Kota, almost weightless in presence,
A glint of Badla, catching only what it must,
Threads drawn in silence, held with intention,
An ease that never asks, yet always stays.

Nothing here seeks to be louder than itself,
No detail without reason, no shimmer without pause,
Just craft distilled to its quietest form,
Where restraint becomes its own kind of presence.

Colour moves gently across chiffon,
Each brushstroke carrying the patience of the hand,
Kalamkari unfolding like a story in motion,
Softly held within the fluidity of the weave.

A self-woven chiffon dupatta follows with ease,
Light enough to feel almost untethered,
Nothing here competes for attention,
Everything simply belongs together.

Thank you for the overwhelming response to Khadi, a Canvas. All walkthrough slots for both days are now fully booked.

Hosted at Gaurang, Hyderabad, this guided walkthrough of Khadi, a Canvas with Gaurang Shah brings audiences closer to a landmark body of work where textile becomes a medium of storytelling.

Khadi, a Canvas brings together the worlds of Raja Ravi Varma and Mahatma Gandhi, tracing how art and ideology reached the masses in different ways. Through intricate Jamdani weaving on khadi, iconic visual narratives are reimagined not with paint, but with thread, transforming sarees into moving canvases.

Each piece is the result of an extraordinary process, where hundreds of shades, years of labour, and the skill of master weavers come together to recreate imagery with remarkable depth and detail.

This walkthrough is an invitation to experience these works beyond their visual beauty, to understand the ideas, labour, and cultural dialogue woven into every textile.

Chanderi breathes in quiet, measured grace,
Embroidery settling gently into its surface,
Threads moving with ease, never in excess,
A form that feels as effortless as it is deliberate.

Kota drapes like a passing thought,
Light, open, and held by the loom,
Between weave and needle, a balance is found,
Where craft speaks softly, yet stays.

Tussar holds a quiet, textured stillness,
Embroidery tracing stories into its surface,
A Paithani border anchoring it in tradition,
Where every thread remembers where it came from.

Bandhani rises in rhythm, tied and revealed by hand,
Paithani returns in the pallu, carrying its quiet richness,
Between dye, weave, and border, a dialogue unfolds,
Not of excess, but of craft that has travelled through time.

A rhythm of colour, texture, and handwork.

Our handwoven Tussar silk leheriya lehenga and dupatta with Gota Patti detailing brings together movement and structure in a language that feels both rooted and refined. The flowing pattern of leheriya, created through meticulous resist-dyeing, finds depth in the raw texture of Tussarβ€”accented with the quiet gleam of hand-applied Gota Patti.

Each line carries a sense of motion, each detail adds a layer of craftsmanship, coming together in an ensemble that feels expressive yet balanced.

A composition of texture, detail, and handwork.

Our handcrafted Katha and sequin embroidered lehenga paired with a Bandhani dupatta brings together the richness of surface embroidery and the fluid rhythm of traditional dyeing. The intricate handwork of Katha embroidery meets the subtle shimmer of sequins, while the Bandhani dupatta adds movement, colour, and a timeless sense of tradition.

Every stitch carries intention, every motif reflects craftsmanship, creating an ensemble that feels expressive, refined, and deeply rooted in Indian artistry.
