Established in 1979, Suruchi is a manufacturer and retailer of hand block printed women’s wear. ke malmal cotton, chanderi, kota doriya, chiffon, maheshwari etc. The focus, at Suruchi, is not on expanding our product range, but on the quality and design of our existing products, enabling us to service our customers better while playing to our strengths. Nearly all garments and fabrics at Suruchi Jaipur have been printed using an ancient technique of hand block printing common in Rajasthan. Floral or graphic designs are carved by hand on blocks of wood; one block for every colour in the design. the block collects the dye and is placed over the fabric for the dye to soak through; the process is repeated until all the colours have been applied and the entire stretch of fabric covered. This means that every meter of fabric could be stamped 200-400 times depending on the design. Each radiant patter in Suruchi is thus exceptional and has been printed with singular attention by a community of hand block printers dedicated to the craft for generations.
