Today is a day of immense joy for us; nearly 46 years after its inception, a nationalist government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party has been established in the state of West Bengal. This is a historic day, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been able to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

This man deserves a word of thanks.
In my entire lifetime, I have never witnessed an election as peaceful as this one. Nor have I ever seen such a vast number of people participating in this greatest festival of democracy; a turnout exceeding 90% is simply unimaginable, and the message is clear.
Since my childhood; dating back to the era of Leftist rule, I have consistently witnessed a grim procession of de/aths both leading up to and on the very day of every election. Yet, this time around, we saw nothing of the sort. This is precisely what we desire: the opportunity to participate in democracy's grandest celebration without fear or hindrance, recognising that an opponent is never an en/emy, but rather a rival.

It is our earnest hope that the upcoming election on the 29th proves to be even more peaceful than this one.

The fabric of this garment is Kora Silk featuring Jamdani work, hand-woven of course, and it took nearly three months to weave. The weaver alone was paid a wage of 35 thousand Rupees, in addition to other ancillary costs.
