Who knew mud and stone could hold so much color? 🌍🎨

Recently, I’ve been gathering rocks and soil from nearby areas, turning quiet walks into little rituals. I collect, crush, and mix them with water, slowly revealing the hidden hues beneath my feet.

These pigments aren’t just colors; they are Earth’s own pigments—raw, honest, and quietly beautiful.

They are bits of earth and stone held in my hands. I can’t wait to see where they take me next.

A day steeped in walnut tones 🍂

Today I went leaf-hunting under quiet skies.Just me, some walnut leaves🌿, and a basket that kept filling.

No rush. No rules.
Just the joy of collecting,wrapping, dyein
and that little thrill when the fabric finally unfolds

It’s messy. Imperfect. Sometimes unpredictable.
But that’s the beauty of it ✨

Dyeing with plants is like a recipe!!
You keep adding stuff until you find the perfect ingredient.

This week I tried my hands on wool and I'm quite satisfied with the outcomes😊so last year my mum planted at least 30 marigold plants so that I can use that soon after. Since then I came back home I'm experimenting more with these golden petals. To cover up I have used fresh rose leaves as the impression they leave is very intense.

Ay, I'm going to dye more on wool this week.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been experimenting with the versatile marigold plant 🍀
Wanted to share what I have understood till now about natural extracts from plants and natural resources.


A golden petal flower - marigold🏵️

better defined as the beauty and the warmth of the sun. As its colour is defined by the intensity of sunlight and components of soil where it is planted.

Fallen treasures and me!🌿🍂

My journey so far with botanical dyes is very personal as I'm allergic to synthetic dyes and it's inherited. I began this journey when our teacher introduced us to different tie and dyeing techniques.

It was a summer afternoon in July 2017 when I thought to give it a try and this time I was in my parterre. I collected fresh leaves, flowers and some rustic canes and wrapped them and steamed them.

My expectations were very low but still, when I opened my first ever dye bundle I instantly fell in love with the soft impressions that were left💚

I tried my hands-on it gain and yes I failed so many times but after several iterations, I am hopeful about it.

I love doing what I'm doing today. Sometimes what all we need is to trust the process.

Yes, I have a lot to share you can choose to continue this journey with me by sharing some love.
