Sometimes a form is suggested by the material itself.

A crack, a twist, a knot.

The work is to see it, and let the most essential shape emerge.

Working on a piece means extracting what's already there 👁

A chestnut knot.
Found in the bark of a hundreds years old fallen tree, Apennine Mountains, 2019.

The three-sections form was inside the raw block.

Most times these found pieces already hold their final shape.
The work is to see it, then remove what isn't it: dirt, moss, bark, some of the irregularities.

It's vital to keep a rough surface, a visible asymmetry. A piece not meant to be perfect or polished. Any further intervention would have been a betrayal.

This is how some works begin: from a block of wood that already knows what it is. With no function in mind, not even adornment.

Study in form. 2020. Not for sale.

~ 𝑨 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 ~

Imagine an Oak Tree that has sprout, grown, and has lived its long life witnessing so many changes under the Sun ~

Centuries later, when its life came to an end, the forest slowly became a wetland covered in muddy waters ~ one day, with a crack and a roar, the Tree has fallen before the rise of what we call civilization.

Its leaves and branches became soon soil again, eaten by thousands of small creatures ~ but what happened to the trunk?

Before it could follow the same fate, the trunk has sunk into a quicksand and has been buried underground in the peat bog.

Here, it has been hidden in the dark for thousands of years.

Beneath layers of rich peat and water, the trees that once were forests enter a slumber that spans millennia.

The absence of oxygen, combined with the humic acids and iron-rich waters, envelops the fallen giants, preserving them from decay.

This sacred burial transforms their golden-brown essence into deep hues of black and shimmering brownish greys, as tannins react with minerals in a slow alchemical process that defies time itself.

Ancient wood becomes darker and darker with time instead of rotting.

And now, lost and found again, it becomes a piece of adornment.

Hi, Wandering Spirits and Pathfinders 🌀🌿🕯

Many of you are new to this page so I'm going to introduce myself.

I condensed my story and Cindy L***r's story so far in this carousel ~ swipe to read if you want to know something more about me and my artistic path.

Being extremely private about my life, and being honestly quite tired with social media's "pick me" culture and overwhelming content flood, I rarely talk about about myself or put myself in the picture when posting about my work.
But I also understand that sometimes it can make sense.
~ I'm slowly finding my own way to be present and transparent without being loud or feeling overexposed.

Thank you so much for being here 🖤✨

🕯 February 1st, 2026 🕯

In this Time of The Year takes place Imbolc ~ a sacred festival rooted in pagan European tradition and based on the lunar calendar, marking the halfway pointbetween the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.

Aligned with the second New Moon after the Winter Solstice, this day marks the halfway point to the Spring Equinox and signals a gradual change in the land as the days lengthen and the Earth begins to awaken after a long Winter's rest.

This midterm festival is a vital reminder that the Wheel of the Year is turning:

The word "imbolc" means "in the belly (of the Mother)," because the seeds of Spring are beginning to stir in the belly of the Earth 🫘🌱

As we honor this time, we can feel aconnection to the Earth's rhythms, sensing that life is stirring beneath the surface.

How would you celebrate this turning point? 🕯

~ The Blackbird Days ~

We're in the middle of the Blackbird's Days: January 29, 30, and 31, traditionally seen in Italy as the coldest days of winter ~ and at the same time, a first signal of the upcoming passage to the Blooming Season.

This folklore ties into hopes for upcoming weather patterns, where cold spells predict a mild Spring, and mild ones a cooler one.

Rooted in rural Italian traditions, especially northern areas like Emilia-Romagna where I write from, these days traditionally mark Winter's final fury before Spring.

The Blackbird’s Day Tale

Once upon a time, January was 28 days long and blackbirds were all white.

So, one time a female white-as-snow blackbird, tormented by the harsh month of January, stocked food and hid all month to escape its cold blasts.
On the last day, she emerged triumphantly, mocking January, who borrowed three days from February to unleash blizzards.

She sheltered herself and her chicks in a chimney, and after the storm they emerged safe but completely covered in soot—explaining why blackbirds are now black.

Mythological Roots

Deeper origins of this tale link to Greco-Roman myths of Persephone signaling her spring return from the underworld via a blackbird messenger, symbolizing Winter's end and seasonal renewal.
