This jacket is made from antique linen woven on several types of French manual looms from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, which have been hand-patched together. The loose, relaxed silhouette makes this a garment perfect for warm, refreshing seasons.
Rather than simply placing fabric on top and patching it, the fabric is cut out like inlay work and patched in a mosaic pattern, creating a mysterious charm that can only be achieved with travail de patch, a unique French patchwork technique.
These clothes can do things that simply being old or simply being new cannot.

This jacket is made by combining and hand-stitching different kinds of French indigo-dyed villette from the early to mid-20th century.
Unlike sashiko, which uses thick thread, or patchwork, which is made by improvising combinations of flashy colors and patterns with a sewing machine, each part is sewn together by hand with a delicate brind stitch to create an inlaid pattern that exudes a quiet charm.
