My parents, Danson Kiundi Yambu and Serah Mbuve Kiundi, were not billionaires. Yet they left behind something far more valuable: a belief that our lives find meaning when they improve the lives of others.
That belief inspired the creation of the Danson and Serah Kiundi Foundation.
Our mission is simple: to combine innovation, commerce, and compassion to create meaningful impact in communities across Kenya.
We are still at the beginning of this journey. In truth, we have taken only a few small steps. But every great journey begins with a single step taken in faith.
I have learned that a foundation is not built by one person. It is built by a community of people who believe that kindness, opportunity, and human dignity still matter.
This is, therefore, both an introduction and an invitation.
Walk with us.
Support us.
Encourage us.
And, above all, continue to believe that together we can leave our communities better than we found them.
Because, in the end, our greatest legacy will not be what we accumulated, but what we shared.

A Minute with The Duke

There are some lessons life will teach you that no school ever can.

They often come through hardship, disappointment, failure, unexpected blessings—and sometimes through people we never expected to learn from.

Looking back over my journey, I've discovered that some of my most difficult experiences became some of my greatest teachers.

That is part of the story behind Through the Wilderness of Life.

🎥 In this week's A Minute with The Duke, I share one of those lessons.

When I worked in Kenya Pipeline Company as Chief Accountant, I was accused of misappropriation of funds and being supremely confident of my innocent walked into the inquiry "slaughter house" wearing my badge of innocence not knowing it was not visible to those determined to "slaughter" me.

Every Life Has a Wilderness If someone looked only at our successes, they might think the journey was easy.

But every achievement has a backstory. Every smile has known sorrow. Every strong person has faced moments of doubt.
As I reflected on my own life's journey, I realised that the wilderness is not a place reserved for a few people. It is an experience common to us all.

Some pass through the wilderness of illness. Others through loss, disappointment, broken relationships, financial hardship or uncertainty. My own journey inspired me to write: . Not because I wanted to tell people about myself, but because I hoped that someone, somewhere, might discover that difficult seasons do not have the final word.

If this page Duke of Emali Writes accomplishes one thing, I hope it reminds us that our struggles can become our greatest teachers and that our experiences can become a source of hope for others.
