We are grateful to see the story of Omina Otsieno being told.

Today, we’re honoured to be featured in a three-page feature in DN2 Powering SME, by the daily nation Daily Nation highlighting our journey of transforming banana fibre into contemporary jewellery and building a global proposition for African crafts.

What started as a desire to reimagine indigenous materials has grown into a journey of heritage, craftsmanship, sustainability, community and African creativity.

This is not just about the brand but about the hands that harvest, extract, weave, shape and create. It is about the artisans and farmers whose work makes this journey possible.

Every piece of jewellery we create at Omina Otsieno begins with a story.

A story of banana fibre once considered waste, transformed by skilled hands into contemporary adornment. A story inspired by Marachi weaving traditions, brought to life by the incredible women artisans in Busia and the brass artisans we collaborate with in Nairobi. A story of culture, sustainability, and community.

I’m so grateful to Jewellery ☀️ Afrika ™ Jewellery Afrika and the entire team for featuring Omina Otsieno in this edition and for helping share our journey with a global audience.

This recognition is not just for me but for every artisan, farmer, collaborator, customer, mentor, and supporter who has believed in our vision and walked this journey with us.
