Sometimes, thinking outside the box is simply seeing possibilities where everyone else sees the same thing. Create differently. Look closer. Make something of what's Infront of you. 🎨

Find the Art in everything.

The Swamp doesn’t scream. It makes you look closer.
Through subtle textures, symbolism and a whole lot of tension, Munene Kariithi explores power, manipulation and the relationship between those who hold power and those who live under it.
The pigs, the blindfolds, the tension between figures. The more you look, the more the message reveals itself.

Under the Same Sky brings together twin brothers, Mbiyu Ng’ang’a and Antony Mega, exploring the different ways they see and experience the world around them.
From Mbiyu’s use of mabati and abstraction to Antony’s layered interpretation of Nairobi, their works remind us that even when we share the same spaces, we don’t always see the same things.
And yeah, we might as well say there are two experiences and two perspectives involved, but they’re all under the same sky.

David Kipkoech alias Akiba, a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, collage and fashion, blends Afro-culturism, street culture and sci-fi to explore how we imagine and express contemporary African identity. From his collages to fashion, identity becomes another canvas, turning culture, memory and imagination into something we can see, wear and carry. His work asks us to look at what we’ve inherited, while imagining what we can create from it.

𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐖𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭 brings together two different perspectives on what it means to exist, grow and navigate life on the African continent, with Akiba looking at land, memory, identity and becoming, while Blaine 29 turns toward the realities that unfold within those spaces, the uncertainty, struggles, broken systems, resistance and resilience that shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
Different approaches, but somehow the works meet in the same conversation about where we come from, what we carry, and what we are still becoming.

Had the chance to document the launch of Sunvalley Collective’s new studio in Kibera Arts District — from the space itself to the pieces that make it feel alive.

A new space, new energy, and plenty of art to take in.

Here’s a little glimpse. 🧡
