Some people got upset at me for posting Charlie Kirk's anti empathy quotes like he ain't say what he said. They demanded I post the entire quote, for context, as if there exists a context that justifies being anti empathy. Ok, here goes-

"I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new-age term, and it does a lot of damage. I much prefer the word compassion, and I much prefer the word sympathy. Empathy is where you try to feel someone's pain and sorrows as if they're your own... compassion allows for understanding."

Tabling the fact that Kirk being a white man doesn't make him king of words, this quote just further proves that Kirk was anti empathy. Who cares if he "liked" sympathy better? Only someone with a colonial mentality would assume that everyone needs or wants their sympathy. The oppressor has never been moved to do the right thing out of the kindness of their heart, y'all can keep that funky ass sympathy, we don't need a white savior. Sympathy is saying "thoughts and prayers." Empathy calls for actual action.

I'm sure people of color will agree with me when I say that racists often show up posting very racist things at us while having Charlie Kirk as their profile pic. Charlie Kirk might not have thought he was a racist, but the racists sure thought he was.
