Knitux isn’t a factory — it’s a tiny studio build on yarn, fabric, and ideas. And I’m Marta — the hands, heart, and coffee behind Knitux. Every beanie you see here is handknit by me, with love and care. I started this little shop because I believe simple things — soft yarn, kind notes, daily beauty — matter. Besides knitting I am a graphic designer, photographer and garden addicted person. Thank you for being here 💌

I have a funny professional quirk. As a nature photographer, I’m constantly scanning the woods and gardens for interesting colors. It probably looks pretty hilarious from the outside: me crawling around in the grass with a camera, carefully arranging my knits next to flowers just to catch the perfect light. Luckily, I do this in my own backyard, so there aren't too many onlookers.

The other day, the muscari bloomed, and I couldn't resist bringing my fresh blue skull cap outside. Placed it next to them. A perfect match! I sat there admiring how cool this blue cotton pops against the vibrant greenery. This is where all my biggest passions meet: capturing nature, clean graphic shapes, and handcraft.

I’ve had my fun photographing it, now this one is officially off the grass and ready to be worn. You can grab it (and a few other colors) in my shop. 💙

Well, I just lost a high-stakes game of "Yarn Chicken." 🧶🫠

I was working on a skull cap using Drops Paris recycled denim (color 102) and my math failed me. With literally just a couple of rows left to go, the yarn just... ran out.

Turns out, this recycled cotton is denser than the standard Drops Paris I’m used to. Even though the weight is the same, there’s actually less yardage per ball. Usually, 50g leaves me with a little bit of a leftover tail, but not this time. I was left staring at a finish line I couldn’t cross.

I had to rush an emergency order just to snag the same dye lot before it sold out. The hat is saved, but my nervous system? Not so much! 😅

Who else is a regular at the "Yarn Chicken" club? Have you ever had your yarn fail you at the very last second? Let’s hear your horror stories! 👇

I just received a fresh batch of stunning yarn! It’s 100% organic cotton, and I’m absolutely in love. I’m starting on the summer collection, and the first piece to launch is our favorite Cotton Skull Cap.

This beanie was created for those in the "never-take-it-off" category. The ones who don't want to part with their hat, ever! Even when it’s summer outside, your style shouldn’t have to compromise on comfort.

In the summer, it shields you from the sun and completes your look; in the winter, it serves as the perfect soft base layer under a scratchy wool hat. It’s that rare accessory so lightweight you’ll genuinely forget you’re even wearing it.

P.S. Tested by my husband and now he won’t take it off! Sometimes even at night🌚

Is it just me, or is it impossible to look away from these color shifts? 🌈✨

To be honest, knitting with Estonian Kauni wool is like playing a lottery where you always win. I never know exactly where that deep wine red will fade out and the sunshine yellow will kick in. It’s like watching a sunset in fast-forward, but with knitting needles in my hands.

I wanted to share these two specific angles to show you why this turban is a bit of a game-changer.

Let’s face it, not everyone feels great in a basic beanie. This turban style creates a flattering "halo" around the face. It adds that soft volume that makes any outfit feel a bit more retro-chic (even if you're just wearing a hoodie).

The Crown. This is my personal meditation. See that "whirl"? I engineered the decreases to spiral toward the center so the color gradient flows perfectly without any awkward breaks. Total satisfaction for the perfectionist soul.

If you’re new to Kauni, it’s a bit of a legend in the knitting world. It’s 100% pure wool from Estonia. It has that rustic, "toothy" texture, it breathes, it’s incredibly warm, and it has these famous, impossibly long color transitions that you just can't find in modern factory yarns. It feels like wearing a piece of Northern nature.

Save this post if you’re as obsessed with gradients as I am. 📌 And tell me what’s your favorite part is? The twist at the front or that hypnotic swirl on top?
