what i love about the henna patterns is that they express feminine solidarity and express feminine aesthetics and serving as well to strengthen social beliefs!! last year I've been discussing briefly with a researcher the fact that Moroccan women are leaders, feminist by default , they are not as the westerns want to portray them in "submissive women " or some of the influenced new Moroccan extremist generation want to change them!! in any home you'll find a women who lead the family directly or indirectly ! if you look through history and designs, symbols in arts the majority are feminine, and there is a strange feminine solidarity in all conserved traditions that served as a culture and shaped identity!

Henna has been used for centuries to dye skin, hair, and fingernails, as well as fabrics including silk, wool, and leather. In the ancient Egyptian times even mummies wore henna designs and it is documented that Cleopatra herself used henna for decorative purposes.

Henna was not only a popular accessory for the rich but the poor, who could not afford jewelry, used it to decorate their bodies as well.

Because henna has natural cooling properties, people of the desert, for centuries, have been using henna to help control their body temperature.
Historically, Henna played an integral part of any major happy event in Morocco and still does today ~
