Wajira is a company dedicated to producing export quality bags and accessories. All our designs are unique, knitted by native Wayúu women, and finished by Colombian artisans. Wajira has been committed to ensuring a fair payment for the indigenous Wayúu women and our leather artisans from the beginning point of our creative process. We are committed to create social development in the regions where our products are made, mainly in "La Guajira," home of the Wayúu indigenous women. We pay these wonderful women directly, without intermediaries, the right price for their work, and hope to expand our support to their under served communities as we grow.
The products designed by Wajira are the result of the combination between the Wayúu fabrics and real leather of the highest quality.
Our work integrates processes and crafts belonging to various native cultures of the country, traditional designs, and contemporary techniques focused on today's women. We are honored to be able to support native women of the Wayúu culture. They use only natural yarns to create entirely handmade fabrics and bags. A carefully selected group of weavers, spin natural fibers, and knit lovingly for the Wajira Handbags, and detail oriented artisans finish our bags and accessories. We are proud to offer products that combine beauty and the best quality possible while contributing our grain of sand towards improving the life conditions for the Wayúu community and our dedicated leather artisans.
